Stratford Pathway

The Stratford pathway was to be a pedestrian walkway that would connect Cotton Park, along the water, to Harbourview Drive. The idea for the pathway was born from the desire to increase healthy living among Stratford residents and to bring people to the waterfront. It was to start at Cotton Park, on the north side of the Hillsborough Bridge, travel out along the water on the causeway approach to the bridge, wrap under the bridge and travel back along the causeway. The pathway would then hug the shore line and connect to Harbourview Drive. CADC completed the preparation of concept drawings of a waterfront pathway and began to consult the various parties that would be affected. Unfortunately the project ran into a major obstacle when trying to make arrangements for the path to travel under the bridge. The path was unable to get this approval and has never moved forward.
