The Joe Ghiz Memorial City Park, dubbed the “Diamond in the Rough” was completed in September 2001. The project is a fantastic example of what a dedicated volunteer group can accomplish. Lead by Lake of Shining Waters IODE & the Dr. Marlene Bryenton Ghiz Park Fund, this park has been transformed from one of the most unimpressive and least used parks into one of the most beautiful and well maintained. CADC was able to get involved in its development by working on the site designs. Located on the corner of Grafton and Edward Street, the park greats people as they enter Charlottetown from the Hillsborough Bridge. The community space features playground equipment, swings, a basketball court, a gazebo, beautiful landscaping and the confederation trail.
