In 2002 CADC was asked on the behalf of the Town of Stratford to undertake a study on the potential for a marina on the Stratford waterfront. With its partners on the project, ACOA and the Town of Stratford, CADC engaged Coles Associates to complete the concept plan. The result was a beautiful vision of a 75 boat slip marina with a rock wave break, retail shops and parking for 103 vehicles. The concept was estimated to cost upwards of $8 million to construct and required substantial dredging. This idea of having a marina on the waterfront remains top of mind for the town and has appeared in various long-term plans since 2002.
