This project was undertaken in an effort to rejuvenate the exterior of Province House and to make changes to reflect the historic setting. The work was completed by CADC, in co-operation with Parks Canada and the Province and carried a price tag of approximately $170,000. The changes included removing the old walkway and fountain, re-establishing Victoria Gardens, reminiscent of those surrounding Province House in the 1890’s, increasing security, creating a new fountain and modernizing accessibility. The work on the Province House grounds was completed by local contractor Williams Murphy & MacLeod in the fall of 1996.
